Niantic Lab Doesn’t Like PokeVision for Pokemon Go
As many of you already know, Pokemon Go is a popular mobile app game, a very popular one. But, it has some problems. It freezes a lot, glitches out, and the step meter doesn’t change from three steps. So, how are we suppose to know if we are getting any closer to the Pokemon on our radar? Secondary apps and websites such as PokeVision help players track Pokemon in specific locations and even how long it takes for them to spawn again.
Niantic Lab CEO John Hanke quoted during an interview with Forbes:
Yeah, I don’t really like that. Not a fan.
We have priorities right now but they might find in the future that those things may not work. People are only hurting themselves because it takes some fun out of the game. People are hacking around trying to take data out of our system and that’s against our terms of service.
It looks like Hanke dislikes websites that inform other players locations where Pokemon are spawning. The reason is because hackers get into the game’s back-end data, which Hanke sees it as breaking the game’s terms of service and agreement. Hanke also believes that it takes out the fun of Pokemon Go, which is about finding Pokemon.
Most likely, the reason for players using sites like PokeVision is because the three-step glitch. It makes it hard and stressful for players to find Pokemon.
We hope that Niantic fixes the three-step glitch and other bugs soon.
